Transfer students who have completed less than three semesters (12 to 50 credits) of college may need to complete additional general education and prerequisite coursework before starting clinical coursework in the School of Nursing. With this option, you can enroll in these pre-clinical courses at Belmont and upon successful completion begin your clinical coursework in a later semester.
Pre-clinical coursework may include any or all of the following: First-Year Writing, First-Year Seminar, Biological Sciences, General Psychology, a Bible course, Human Anatomy & Physiology I, Introduction to Sociology, Lifespan Development, a fine arts course, a wellness course, Human Anatomy & Physiology II, Fundamentals of Speech Communication, an advanced mathematics course and Nutrition.
Students are required to meet the following criteria to be considered for admission into the School of Nursing:
- 3.0 Cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
- 3.0 Prerequisite GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
- 22 ACT composite score or 1100 SAT Reading/Math composite score (or 1020 composite reading/math score from an SAT taken prior to March 2016)
Applicants who meet this criteria are eligible for consideration, but acceptance is not guaranteed.
