The Fast Track Option is a program designed for transfer students who have completed the majority of general education courses and prerequisites and lack primarily nursing coursework. This option condenses the BSN program of study into four traditional semesters, or approximately 24 months.
Transfer students who are interested in the Fast Track Option must first be accepted into the School of Nursing. After acceptance, a separate application is required at midterm during the first semester of clinical rotations.
Students are required to meet the following criteria to be considered for admission into the Fast Track program:
- 3.0 Nursing GPA
- "B" (3.0) midterm grade in each nursing course.
- Completion of nearly all general education and prerequisite coursework, with a 3.0 GPA in cores math and science courses.
- Students who have failed previous nursing courses are ineligible for the Fast Track.
Applicants who meet this criteria are eligible for consideration, but acceptance is not guaranteed.
Second Degree Students
Students seeking a second Bachelor’s degree may be eligible for the Fast Track Option. This program, which includes no summer coursework, can serve as a Spring-entry alternative to the Accelerated BSN Program (a Fall-entry only option).
