Keary Dryden
Volunteering as a “candy striper” at a children’s cerebral palsy day care center was the beginning of my journey to a career in Nursing. I completed a BSN at Vanderbilt University and a MSN at the University of Alabama –Birmingham. My primary area of practice has been in Neurology and Neurogurgery as a staff nurse, clinical nurse specialist and in staff development. My first teaching position was as faculty in a Diploma nursing program.
I feel that God has put me in a special place to teach at Belmont. For many years I have guided beginning nursing students through the first clinical experience and love being a part of launching students into their clinical practice. A big blessing of being a part of the Belmont community has been the opportunity to experience the Cambodia trip as a faculty member. No words can describe the impact the experience has had on my life and being able to see the transformation of the lives of students.
