Applying for Admission

Belmont offers direct entry to the BSN (admitted to the nursing program at the same time as admitted to Belmont). The following minimum admission requirements must be met for entry into the BSN program.

Minimum Admission Requirements to the BSN
  • 3.0 cumulative high school GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • 22 ACT composite score or 1100 SAT Reading/Math composite score (optional requirement)
    Students with a previous Bachelor's degree or a RN license are exempt from submitting ACT/SAT scores.
  • 3.0 GPA in high school math & science courses if applicant does not submit ACT/SAT scores
  • 3.0 GPA, both on all college coursework and all prerequisite coursework (if applicable)
    Partners in Nursing program offers special opportunities for students transferring from partner institutions.
Applicants who meet this criteria are eligible for consideration, but acceptance is not guaranteed.

Applicants who do not meet these requirements may be admitted to the University, but are ineligible for entry into the nursing program.  On occasion, additional requirements may be considered for admission to the nursing program.

Note: Persons who have been convicted of a crime other than a minor traffic violation could be ineligible for registered nurse licensure in the state of Tennessee even though they successfully complete the program.
