School of Nursing Scholarships for New Students

Lettie Pate Whitehead Endowed Scholarship
The Lettie Pate Whitehead Scholarship is a leadership development and scholarship program designed to support deserving female students with financial need. The scholarship is restricted to students enrolled as a major in the College of Health Sciences and Nursing and who are residents of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee or Virginia. An applicant must also possess good moral character and should be a professing Christian who is active in his/her community.

Joe C. Davis Endowed Nursing Scholarship
Awarded to applicants of the School of Nursing. The Joe C. Davis scholarship is a $5,000 a year award and is renewable for four years. The scholarship renews automatically as long as you remain a nursing student and maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.


University Awards

Belmont University offers a variety of scholarships to incoming freshmen. No separate scholarship application is required to be considered for university scholarships. For additional information about scholarships and financial aid, please refer to the Student Financial Services Website.


Applying for Scholarships

Eligibility
Individuals admitted to the School of Nursing are eligible for scholarship consideration. Candidates must meet the specific criteria of a scholarship to be considered.

Application
The Lettie Pate Whitehead Scholarship will have an application sent to all those who meet the scholarship criteria, and have submitted their application by December 1st.

The Joe C. Davis scholarship will use the application for admission as the scholarship application. There is no further application for this scholarship.

Award Process
The following criteria informs the award process: GPA, class ranking/status, and community/university involvement. Award amounts typically range from $3000 to $5000.
