Her next position was at St. Jude's Children’s Research Hospital as a Pediatric Oncology Nurse (bone-marrow transplant). During her time at St. Jude, Jill furthered her education by pursuing her Master's Degree. After graduation, Jill took a position as a pediatric nurse practitioner in the Leukemia/Lymphoma clinic. She has also worked as a pediatric cardiology nurse practitioner, a blood and marrow transplant PNP at Duke University, and most recently, as a PNP hospitalist at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Throughout her career, she has also had the joy of teaching nursing students and has taught at Bethel University and been part of the Pediatric faculty at UT Memphis.
A personal note from Jill. . . . .
From a very early age, I have always felt the need to help others. My grandfather was a physician, and I think he is the one that instilled that into me. I wanted to become a nurse for as long as I can remember, and when the opportunity came, I went for it and I have never looked back. I am passionate about nursing and I am passionate about teaching and sharing that passion with future nurses, enabling and encouraging them to be the best that they can possibly be. Now at Belmont, I have that opportunity each and every day!
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our dogs, cooking, and sharing another passion, our photography business. We are also “foodies”, so we are likely to be found anywhere in the Nashville area where there is really good, electic, fun food!
