Jamie Adam joined Belmont University in the fall of 2010 as an Assistant Professor of Nursing. She teaches Pharmacology, Health Assessment Lab and Adult Health Lab.
Prior to becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Jamie practiced in Adult Surgical Nursing, Pediatrics and Intensive Care. During this time, Jamie provided Spanish translation for healthcare providers. Later as a FNP, fluent in medical Spanish, Jamie was able to serve in an advanced capacity, caring for the needs of Spanish-speaking patients at the Primary Care & Hope Clinic in Murfreesboro, TN.
Currently, Jamie volunteers with the Mobile Medical Dental Unit of Brentwood Baptist church serving the needs of vulnerable and diverse patients in Middle Tennessee and surrounding areas.
A personal note from Jamie. . . . .
I believe I am called to be a Nurse. As a Nurse, I have had the opportunity to care for the sick and the vulnerable. As a Christ-follower, I have realized my profession has allowed me access to care for not only the physical needs of my patients but also the spiritual and emotional as well. I am honored to be chosen for such noble work.
As an educator, I have truly been blessed to teach what I love. I enjoy researching strategies to help students learn and retain information that will strengthen their knowledge and application of important nursing concepts.
Outside of work, I enjoy watching movies, eating popcorn and traveling with my husband and children.
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9
