Julianna Zobrist (2007) has released her first album entitled "The Tree." Her sound is sort of alternative techno Christian music. She says she was influenced by both Christian music artists and some of her childhood favorites like the Beach Boys and Gloria Estefan. Matt Reviere (2008) is currently touring as band leader and lead guitarist for country singer Katie Armiger.
Carlos Colón-Quintana (1989) has won the ASCAPLUS AWARD. This is an award designed for non-commercial composers. The award is not for one composition, but a recognition for the amount of perforemances my music is generating,” explained Carlos. “However, the main piece that has been generating some performances and attention is my musical requiem, Las Lamentaciones de Rufina Amaya. It was written for the victims of a massacre in El Salvador. Vince Romanelli (2003) performs full time with the drum duet Bucket Boys and his popular Nashville-based band Philos. In late 2008, Philos released their debut EP entitled Defying Gravity, which includes their cover version of the popular song Defying Gravity from the hit musical Wicked. Wicked composer Stephen Schwartz heard the Philos version of Defying Gravity and invited the band to play an Actors Fund benefit at the historic Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles. Philos was the only non-Broadway related act of the night. Philos is currently working on a follow-up EP which will be released in early 2010. www.philosrocks.com
Italian Guitarist Giacomo Fiore (BM 2006) has recently released his second studio effort, "Genteel:" the album contains music from a variety of styles and countries performed on a solo classical guitar, and is meant to chronicle Fiore's development as an interpreter through his Belmont years and beyond. The project also features the design work of alumn James Pierce (2007). Laura Rosser, SOM alum has a condition called synesthesia -- a combining of the senses -- which causes her to see letters, numbers, and music in color. ABC will be airing a five-hour primetime series in Summer 06 on various health issues. More details to come.
