Belmont Summer Vocal Arts Intensive

The Belmont Summer Vocal Arts Intensive is a week-long immersive experience in solo and choral singing in a variety of styles. Students entering grades 9-12 will engage in rehearsals, masterclasses, and performances with the outstanding artistic faculty at Belmont University. The Summer Vocal Arts Intensive provides a unique opportunity to experience high level artistry in both classical and commercial singing. This residential camp takes place on Belmont University’s beautiful campus in downtown Nashville, TN.

Daily Schedule

Each day, students will participate in mass choir rehearsals, electives, small ensembles, master classes, and social experiences. The mass choir will rehearse and perform a final concert of traditional and contemporary choral music. Small ensemble opportunities include Chamber Choir, Jazz Choir, A Capella Choir, Pop/Rock Ensemble, and Musical Theatre ensemble. Master classes will provide solo vocal lessons in a group setting – choose from classical, commercial, integrative (both classical and commercial), or musicale theatre tracks. Elective classes will offer opportunities to explore Choral Conducting, Artist Development, Diction for Singers, Chart Writing, Dance, and more. Evening activities include a mix of social activities and recitals (faculty and campers).

Housing & Meals

Students will be housed in Belmont University dormitories. Roommates will be assigned randomly by gender unless roommate requests are indicated on the registration form.  While in the dormitories, participants will be under the careful supervision of the camp staff, and security will be a priority. All meals will be served in Johnson Center Dining Hall, which can make accomodations for food allergies.


The Belmont Summer Vocal Arts Intensive is open to students entering grades 9-12 in the Fall of 2019, pending successful audition. Discounts available for participation in National, State, and Regional honor choirs.


Residential Camper: $700 ($50 application fee applies to this amount)

Commuter Camper: $550 ($50 application fee applies to this amount)

Application and Registration

  • A Credit Card Payment ($50 Deposit) will be required at time of submission. The deposit is non-refundable, but will count towards tuition if accepted.
  • Review of Applications began on February 1st. We will continue to accept applications until voice parts are full. As parts fill up, we will post updates here. At this time, we are still accepting applications for ALL VOICE PARTS.  Thank you for your patience as we continue to process the great number of applications we have received. We have not yet sent any notifications of acceptance status. We will post updates on that process here as well.

Tuition discounts are available to students who participated in a National, State, or Regional honor choir during the 2018-2019 school year. Siblings qualify for a family discount. This information will be included in the application. Discount information will be included in your registration email.
