David Petschulat

David Petschulat, a Belmont graduate of the commercial music program, has taught a guitar maintenance course at Belmont University since 2008.

Mr. Petschulat began his career as a luthier while he was a student at Belmont. His instruments appeared in the hands of magazine readers’ poll winners, on Billboard top-charting productions, multi-platinum recordings, and on the pages of many trade and fan oriented publications. Some musicians to whom he has sold instruments include Eddie Van Halen, Nancy Wilson and Howard Leese of Heart, Jackson Browne, Mick Jones of Foreigner, and Steve Morse of Deep Purple.

In addition to making guitars, he developed specialized hardware devices for guitars, and created or collaborated on several US Patents as an inventor. He eventually came to work for several guitar manufacturing companies, and continues his career as an active musician and teacher in the Nashville community.
