David McKay

David Moser McKay is a Lecturer in Theory-Composition, Music Technology and Piano at Belmont University.

He holds a Master of Music degree (Composition) from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory, a Bachelor of Music (Composition, Literature and Theory) from Heidelberg University, and an Associate in Theology degree from Florida Beacon Bible College. A composition student of Lukas Foss, Paul Palombo and Norman Dinerstein, McKay won the BMI Awards to Student Composers for Piano Concerto in 1976.

A jazz pianist, composer, arranger and worship leader, his writing spans a number of genres. His choral music is published through Integrity Music, LifeWay, Word Music Now, St. James Music Press, Art Masters Studios Inc. (Lorenz), Belden Street Music, and Earthsongs.  His commercial credits include Paramount Pictures, HBO, Showtime, McDonalds, Wendy’s, AT&T, American Standard, General Electric, Proctor and Gamble, Uniroyal, Sears, and the Environmental Protection Agency.  His growing list of film and TV scoring credits include music from documentaries to feature film.
