Keith Mason

V. Keith Mason is the Coordinator of Commercial Music and Music Technology. He joined the Belmont faculty in 1998 and currently teaches courses, and develops curriculum, in the areas of music technology with a focus on digital musicianship. As coordinator of the commercial music program, he leads the commercial faculty in the continual development of both the academic and performance areas of the commercial degree.

Mr. Mason earned a Master of Music degree in “Studio Writing and Production” from the University of Miami (FL), and a Bachelor of Music degree in “Classical Guitar Performance” from Winthrop University. He has more than 25 years of experience in the Nashville music industry where he has served as a label director, creative director, and staff producer for various production companies and a record label.

As a professional composer, arranger, digital musician, and producer, Mr. Mason has produced music for numerous organizations like Nissan, McDonald’s, Exxon, General Mills, Cadillac, Brentwood/Benson Music, Word Music, and others. His productions have won numerous awards from regional Advertising Federations as well as being the producer for the GMA Award Winning album “Sing Me to Sleep, Daddy”.

Mr. Mason has been a presenter at both TI:ME (Technology in Music Education) and ATMI (Association of Technology in Music Instruction) national conferences for over 15 years. He serves on the national advisory board for TI:ME and is the current Vice-President of ATMI. Mr. Mason is also in demand as a music technology consultant for various music related industries and education institutions.

Mr. Mason also serves as the Instrumental Ensemble Director and Arranger for Christ Church Nashville. He and his family have been active members since 1993.
