Daniel Kozlowski

Daniel KozlowkiOriginally from Los Angeles, California, Daniel Kozlowski graduated magna cum laude from Belmont University in Nashville, TN, studying Percussion Performance under Chris Norton and Music Theory under Richard Hoffman. He earned his Master's degree at The Ohio State University, studying Percussion Performance under Dr. Susan Powell and Mr. Joseph Krygier and serving as a Teaching Assistant in Music Theory.  He studied at the Eastern Music Festival and with world famous marimba artist and innovator Leigh Howard Stevens.  Starting drums at the age of 7, Dan has played in just every setting: Rock, Pop, Bluegrass, Contemporary Classical, Orchestral, Chamber Music, and beyond.  Recently, Dan spent two weeks studying with So Percussion, one of the world's leading contemporary music ensembles, at Princeton University.  There, he premiered Sextet by Quinn Collins and performed Steve Reich's Drumming with the composer in residence.  When not teaching at Belmont, Dan is a freelancer, working in pit orchestras and for sessions.  He plays full-time with Folk/Americana singer-songwriter Mia Rose Lynn.
