Dr. Kristi Whitten, Professor of Voice, joined Belmont University School of Music as performing faculty in the fall of 2001. She teaches a full studio of undergraduate students majoring in Vocal Performance, Music Education, Church Music, Musical Theatre, and Music with outside Minor. She also teaches graduate Vocal Performance and Vocal Pedagogy majors. She served as Coordinator of the Graduate Vocal Pedagogy area and Vocal Arts Laboratory 2001 – 2004 and is currently the musical and stage director of Belmont’s Opera Theatre.
Dr. Whitten earned her Master of Music and her Doctor of Music in Vocal Performance and Literature with a minors in Musicology and Speech and Hearing Sciences at Indiana University. Her Bachelor of Music is from Belmont University.
