Michael McLain

Michael McLain is an Adjunct Instructor of Music at the Belmont University School of Music. In addition to his teaching, Mr. McLain is the director of the Belmont Bluegrass Ensemble.
Mr. McLain graduated from Belmont University with a Bachelor of Music (Commercial) degree. Upon completing his degree he joined Claire Lynch & The Front Porch String Band. While with bluegrass artist Claire Lynch, Michael was featured on the group's 1997 Grammy nominated recording, 'Silver and Gold' (Rounder Records), in the 1996 CMT/TNN video, 'My Heart Is A Diamond,' as well as numerous appearance on TNN's Prime Time Country and Grand Old Opry Live. Coming from the strong tradition of one of America's most prominent musical families, The McLain Family Band (Berea, KY), Michael performed with his family for 12 years in 49 states and internationally. His appearances have included performances at Carnegie Hall, the Metropolitan Museum, the Lincoln Center, Chicago's Orchestra Hall and the Grand Old Opry.
