Keith Mason



Keith MasonV. Keith Mason is the Coordinator of Music Technology. He joined the Belmont faculty in 1998 and currently teaches courses, and develops curriculum, in the areas of music technology. As coordinator, he also manages the school of music’s two Audio/Midi labs and all classroom technology.

 

Mr. Mason earned a Master of Music degree in “Studio Writing and Production” from the University of Miami (FL), and a Bachelor of Music degree in “Classical Guitar Performance” from Winthrop University. He has more than 20 years of experience in the Nashville music industry where he has served as a label director, creative director, and staff producer for various production companies and a record label.

 

As a professional composer, arranger, desktop musician, and producer, Mr. Mason has produced music for numerous organizations like Nissan, McDonald’s, Exxon, General Mills, Cadillac, Brentwood/Benson Music, Word Music, and others. His productions have won numerous awards from regional Advertising Federations as well as being the producer for the GMA Award Winning album “Sing Me to Sleep, Daddy”.

 

Mr. Mason has been a presenter at both TI:ME (Technology Institute for Music Educators) and ATMI (Association of Technology in Music Instruction) national conferences. He serves on the national advisory board for TI:ME and was also a contributing author to the TI:ME book “Music Technology Guide for Music Educators” by Thomson Course. Mr. Mason is also the creator and author for the website based “Music Tech for ME” (www.musictechforme.com) which is an on-line resource website and podcast show dedicated to educating, informing, and instructing music educators in using and implementing music technology.

 

Mr. Mason currently serves as the Instrumental Ensemble Director and Arranger for Christ Church Nashville. He has been a speaker and presenter for the Christ Church Music and Worship Conferences since 1999.
