Mr. Stan Lassiter is an Adjunct Faculty Instructor of commercial guitar at Belmont. Mr. Lassiter received his Bachelor of Science (Music Performance and Pedagogy for Guitar) degree and his Master of Science (Music Performance and Pedagogy for Guitar) degree from George Peabody College for Teachers of Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN. His other studies include an Associates degree in Music from Volunteer State Community College and studies under the direction of John Johns, Blair School of Music.
Mr. Lassiter previously taught Cumberland College, and former Belmont College. Mr. Lassiter previously taught at Cumberland College, and at former Belmont College. His performance credits as a solo artist, or with The Stan Lassiter Group, include: Sonny Stitt, Michael Angelo, David Shastein, Stuart Hamm, Spyro Grya, Leo Kottle, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Henry Lee Summers, Eric Johnson, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Lenny Breau, NAMMs All Star Guitar Night 2000, Bernard Purdy, Bethel College Guitar Summit, University of the South, Blair School of Music, Vanderbilt University, Stan and Joe Rea Phillips, and Dyserburg Community College. Mr. Lassiter's extensive experience as a master guitar player of all musical styles - jazz, classical, fusion, country, pop, and experimental styles ? private and collegiate teaching experience and orchestra leader for Opryland USA makes Mr. Lassiter a great addition to our adjunct faculty.
