Heidi O'Gara Jellison

Harpist Heidi O’Gara Jellison holds a Master of Music degree in Harp Performance from RiceUniversity, in Houston, Texas, where she studied with Paula Page, principal harpist for the Houston Symphony. Mrs. Jellison received her Bachelor of Music, also in Harp Performance, from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Oberlin, Ohio, where she studied with Alice Chalifoux and Yolanda Kondonassis. A native of Omaha, Nebraska, she began studying the harp at the age of nine with Omaha Symphony harpist, Mary Walter Bircher.
Mrs. Jellison resides in Nashville, Tennessee, where she teaches at Belmont University and Tennessee State University, maintains a studio for private lessons, and freelances throughout Middle Tennessee. She is Principal Harpist with the Tennessee Philharmonic and Wintergreen Festival Orchestras, and performs regularly with the Nashville Mrs. Jellison has also played with the Houston Symphony and Omaha Symphony, as well as numerous ensembles throughout the country. and Knoxville Symphony Orchestras.
In 2003, Mrs. Jellison moved from Virginia where she was Principal Harpist with the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra and Charlottesville University Symphony Orchestra; directed the Roanoke Youth Harp Ensemble; was the Harp Instructor at the University of Virginia, HollinsUniversity, and Liberty University; freelanced; and taught private students throughout Central Virginia.
