Dr. Lawrence Bond is an Adjunct Voice Instructor and has been with Belmont University since 1990. He received his Doctorate of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting from Indiana University, a Master of Education from College of William and Mary, and a Bachelor of Science in Public School Music from the University of Richmond. He was also a Captain in the United States Army Reserve.
Dr. Bond's teaching career includes teaching voice and choral literature at Vanderbilt University, Scarritt Graduate School, Stetson University, Valencia Community College, University of Central Florida, Walsingham Academy, and Henrico County Virginia Schools. He was also a Professor of Music and Department Chair at Catawba College in Salisbury, NC, where he taught courses in voice, theory, history, literature, and instrumental and vocal methods. Dr. Bond is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, American Choral Directors Association, and the Presbyterian Association of Musicians.
Dr. Bond has been a bass-baritone recitalist throughout the southern United States and has been a featured soloist with: Richmond VA Symphony, Salisbury NC Symphony, Charlotte NC Symphony, Florida Symphony (Orlando), Florida Orchestra (Tampa), Alabama Symphony, Arkansas Symphony, Charlotte Opera, Orlando Opera, Tennessee
Opera Theater, and the Belmont University Opera Theater.
