Belmont Wind Ensemble

  Wind Ensemble
Belmont Wind Ensemble; Dr. Barry Kraus, Conductor

The Belmont Wind Ensemble is comprised of the finest woodwind, brass, and percussion musicians on the Belmont campus.  Concert repertoire consists of the highest quality literature composed or transcribed for wind band.  Participation in the Belmont Wind Ensemble provides exposure to literature which includes chamber music, contemporary works for wind ensemble, and standard repertoire for concert and symphonic band.  During each concert season, the Belmont Wind Ensemble features visiting conductors and composers as part of a comprehensive educational experience.

Each year, membership is open to all students by audition regardless of major. Partial ensemble scholarships are available, and university-owned instruments are available for use. Auditions take place on the first scheduled rehearsal day of the fall and spring semester.

The Wind Ensemble rehearses Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:30-5:00 pm. The course (MUN 4900) is available for one hour of ensemble credit.
