Belmont Jazz Ensemble

Belmont Jazz Ensemble (MUN 4910) plays some of the most challenging and stimulating music from the jazz repertoire. The ensemble performs diverse literature that ranges from big band swing to modern jazz-fusion. This select group, consisting of five saxes/reeds, five trumpets, and four trombones and a full rhythm section permits ample room for individual solos and full ensemble.

The Jazz Ensemble performs several concerts each semester both on and off-campus. Past performance excursions have been throughout the Tennessee area. A two-semester (Fall and Spring) commitment is mandatory for all participants. There are two weekly rehearsals that members attend: Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 4:00pm - 5:30pm. This course offers one hour of ensemble credit.
