Belle Voci
Director, Dr. Jane Warren
Belle Voci was organized in 1996 for the express purpose of rehearsing and performing the choral masterworks from all periods. Belle Voci performs a three to four concert season. The performances are located at various venues across the city chosen for suitability of the concert repertoire. Generally the concerts are in October, December, February, and April. Belle Voci usually performs at least one major work each semester.
Belle Voci seeks members who are trained singers and excellent musicians. Singers are expected to commit to one concert at a time. They may elect to participate in one or all of the concerts in a season. Singers are expected to come to the first rehearsal with the music learned and be ready for the process of polishing and interpreting the music. Singers are at times required to purchase music to use in the ensemble. Graduate students of Belmont University School of Music who wish to participate in Belle Voci may enroll in Ensemble Internship for credit.
Rehearsals are held for 6-8 weeks prior to a concert usually in the Wilson Music Building on the Belmont University campus. Rehearsals are from 7:00-9:30pm on Tuesday evening each week during the preparation cycle with one or two special rehearsals the week of the concert.
