" I chose Belmont University School of Music
for two distinct reasons. The first was for its reputation of
providing top-notch music programs. Being from the Nashville area,
I had heard about Belmont growing up and knew of the recognition
the School of Music received. I also knew that I wanted to go to a
relatively small school, and I knew that a Christian atmosphere
would be wonderful although not absolutely necessary.
As attractive as Belmont looked on paper, I obviously wanted to
see the actual campus for myself. Almost from the moment I arrived,
I felt like Belmont could be a great home for me. Like so many
other people, I absolutely fell in love with the atmosphere and the
campus spirit. People greeted my tour guide, and even me, as we
went through campus. I knew I had found welcoming surroundings. As
a person who puts great emphasis on community, I knew I would fit
in well.
My feelings were further solidified when I met with several
professors and administrators from the School of Music. Not only
were they extremely kind to me when we first met, but they actually
remembered me when I came back for my auditions on a later date.
It's precisely this kind of personal attention that has
continued to make my Belmont experience an amazing one. I cannot
say enough about my decision to go to Belmont; it truthfully
exceeded all of my expectations. I am a more developed musician,
Christian, and scholar than I was when I entered."
