Graduate Programs in the School of Music

Mark Hagewood

Mark Hazelwood The reason I applied to Belmont University was simple. I grew up here in Nashville, and was well aware of the incredible reputation of the music program at Belmont. However, what finally sold me on Belmont was the wonderful, personal attention from the faculty and staff. Coming from a small undergraduate college, I was used to a lot of individual attention from the professors and administration. Belmont has provided me with that same, family-like feeling, while still offering all the benefits of a larger school. The faculty here is top-notch and they truly care about the students. The programs here also have a lot to offer students. I have had the opportunity to sing with, and conduct, some of the finest choral groups that I have ever heard.

Belmont University is one of only a few schools here in the Southeast with a graduate program in Church Music. This program offers students opportunities to learn the ins and outs of music ministry from some incredible church musicians. And with the abundance of churches and fine church music programs here in Nashville, there are lots of places to get involved in music ministry while still in school.

There are lots of Schools of Music out there to choose from, but, if you want talented, knowledgeable, caring faculty, a school with great reputation for music, incredible programs, all in a culturally-rich city, then Belmont University is the school for you.
