About Our Program
The New Century Journalism Program is closely tied to Belmont University's mission to integrate professional education with a strong core emphasis in the liberal arts and ethical development.
Our objective is to provide each of our students with a high quality education that combines strong crtical thinking skills and practical training in the most current professional methods with a personal understanding of the role that journalists play in our society.
We want students who have a passion for writing, reporting, editing and producing news and information for many channels of communication.

Annalise Kraus, class of 2013, has proven herself as determined student, journalist, and overall well-rounded individual. As a journalism major, Annalise sees the opportunity to present someone else’s story to the world as her greatest passion. This is made evident by her compassionate service to Carter Lawrence Elementary School, Safe Haven Family Shelter and Girls on the Run (GOTR) Nashville. Mission trips to New York City and West Virginia have expanded her horizons and broadened her perspective. In the future, Annalise sees herself in the field of broadcast programming, and is currently a student intern at Great American Country (GAC) as part of the process. Broadening perspectives, compassionate service to others, and a commitment to the whole story…this is how Annalise Kraus is Belmont.
