Minor in Sports & Media
The Department of Media Studies is delighted to announce that it is now offering a Minor in Sports & Media. From play-by-play and color commentary to sportswriting and sports marketing, the curriculum is designed to help prepare students for the fast-growing (and fun!) field of Sports & Media. While Sports & Media is one of the most competitive career fields in our culture, the explosive growth of the internet is creating virtually unlimited future opportunity for those who are interested, skilled, and appropriately trained.
You will learn from professionals who are currently working in professional sports media, including Dr. Rich Tiner, the Play-by-Play voice of Belmont Baseball and Women’s Basketball, as well as a couple of minor league baseball teams.
The courses required (18 credits) for the Minor in Sports & Media are:
