A: Nashville is one of the most exciting media markets in the US. The recording industry, radio and television stations, video production companies, non-profit organizations and corporate communication departments are just a few examples of the wide variety of internship opportunities that exist in the Nashville area.
Q: Are there any opportunities for study abroad, and what is the benefit?
A: Just in the past few years, Belmont Mass Communication students have studied in England, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, and Australia. To a person, students who have studied in another country (during the summer or for an entire semester) have said it was one of the best educational experiences they ever had. A month-long study abroad experience in London is offered in conjunction with the Cooperative Center for Study Abroad (CCSA), a consortium of about 25 colleges and universities with which Belmont is affiliated. Q: If I major in Mass Communication, am I required to have a minor?
A: Yes. Most Belmont students are expected to select a minor. Mass Communication students often choose Business, Entrepreneurship, or Political Science, although a growing number are choosing to minor in a foreign language. The choice is yours. Your minor should be based on your interests, aptitude, or academic needs.
