Sarah Ann Stewart, Ph.D.
I came to Belmont in the fall of 2005. I received my M.S. and Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University and did my dissertation work in the area of operator theory. Before going to Vanderbilt, I received my B.S. from Mississippi College in Clinton, MS. I’ve lived in a variety of places including Texas, Georgia, Mississippi, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Previous to coming to Belmont I lived in Naperville, IL (outside Chicago) where I taught at North Central College.
Professionally I am an active member of the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) and a Project NExT (New Experiences in Teaching) Fellow. I have attended workshops and conferences around the country including the Park City Math Institute. In Park City I was able to learn all about geometric combinatorics – a fascinating area that combines geometry with the theory of counting.
I believe that being a college professor in the best job in the world. I love teaching and have so much fun working with students both inside and outside the classroom. If you are interested in pursuing mathematics, I encourage you to press on! Also feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about mathematics and Belmont.
I'd like to contact Dr. Stewart.
