James Cook, M.S.

jamescook

I have taught at Belmont, on a full or part time basis, since 1990 when I returned to Nashville after a twenty-six year career in the US Army. I received a B.S in Industrial Engineering from Tennessee Tech and a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso. I did research and development work for the Air Defense Board, in El Paso, TX, and led The Theater Missile Defense Applications Project Office in Huntsville, AL, for the Department of the Army. I chaired the Technology Panel for the NATO Advisory Group for Aerospace Research and Development for two and one-half years.

During my tenure at Belmont I have taught a wide variety of courses from Mathematical Concepts and Algebra to different levels of Statistics.   My goal in these courses is to encourage the development of logical thinking and to provide the students with an understanding of the language, methods and problem solving skills of mathematics.

My interests, outside of Belmont University, are focused on my family, wife Glenna, daughter Crystal and granddaughters Holly and Hope.   I am an active member and Sunday School teacher at Christ Church, Nashville.

I'd like to contact Mr. Cook.
