With a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies from Belmont University, you will develop the skills you need to thrive in legal environments. In this program, you will gain an understanding of:

  • legal principles
  • proficiency in technical writing
  • speaking
  • research and critical analysis

This is an ideal major if you want to pursue law school or a career in law-related fields. Some students want to pursue law school directly after completing their undergraduate degree. If that sounds like you, learn more about our Legal Studies 3+3 program (BA/BS) (JD), which allows you to begin the first year of law school during the fourth year of undergraduate study.

Other legal studies graduates want to work in the field immediately upon graduation. The BA/BS in Legal Studies will position you to work in such fields as:

  • paralegal / legal assistant
  • legislative assistant
  • human resources
  • compliance officer
  • law enforcement
  • real estate
  • Degree Requirements
  • Legal Studies Minor
  • Student Opportunities
