Elizabeth Usman earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature summa cum laude from Boston University and her Juris Doctor degree from Boston College Law School, where she held the position of articles editor on the Boston College Law Review and graduated Order of the Coif.  Before beginning a career in legal education, Professor Usman served as a law clerk to both the Honorable Mark E. Fuller of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama and the Honorable Martha Craig Daughtrey of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and she also spent several years as an associate at the Boston law firm of Ropes & Gray LLP.  She is a member of the Massachusetts bar.  Professor Usman teaches Legal Information and Communication I & II.
