The Realities of Foreign Language Study from the Student PerspectiveMonday, Feb. 22 | 10 a.m. | Massey Boardroom (4th floor of Massey Business Center)
Get started on your New Year’s Resolution to learn a new language on Monday, Feb. 22, at 10 a.m.! Hear your fellow students share their experiences with learning a language: the initial love of something new, the frustration with sticking to it, how to crack jokes in a second (or third, or fourth) language, letting go of our English assumptions, and how we plan to use foreign language in our lives after school. Various students will represent the different foreign languages offered at Belmont, so if you're curious about one particular language, or you haven't decided which you'd like to try, you can get some advice and ask questions! Since 1999, Rachael McCampbell’s work has been included in numerous solo exhibits and group shows in Nashville and Knoxville, as well as other cities in the US. After that summer, she applied for and received a job in Florence with the fashion designer Emilio Pucci. In preparation, she took one quarter of Italian, and she lived with an Italian family to learn the language through immersion.
