Mike Pinter

mike pinterMike Pinter, Professor of Mathematics, regularly teaches the Analytics: Math Models course for the Honors Program. Since coming to Belmont in 1989, Pinter has held various roles in addition to faculty roles, including as associate dean for the School of Sciences and interim dean for the College of Arts and Sciences. He is currently serving as the Director of the Teaching Center, a role he enjoys for its work with Belmont faculty at all career stages and from all areas of the university. He regularly presents about teaching and learning at mathematics meetings and at the Lilly Conference on College Teaching.

Pinter’s wife Robbie is Professor of English at Belmont and their son Nicholas is a first-year student at Vanderbilt University. They enjoy family time with their dog Annabelle. Pinter’s hobbies include reading (especially fiction), gardening and cheering on his favorite sports teams: the Tennessee Titans and St. Louis Cardinals.
