2012 History Teaching Symposium

An Invitation for U.S. History Teachers

The Belmont University History Department and The Belmont Mansion Present:

“American Imperialisms: A Teaching Symposium”

History Symposium     History Symposium

This event will bring together educators from a variety of Middle Tennessee schools, and grade levels, to participate in a symposium focused on more effective (efficient, inclusive) ways of teaching American Imperialisms – broadly defined!  A panel of educators, with a representative from each educational level, will deliver short presentations on their strategies and tactics for teaching American Imperialisms, with questions, comments, and general conversation following their presentations. The program is intended to foster a positive working relationship between the History Department at Belmont University and history and social studies departments and teachers throughout Middle Tennessee.

Each symposium attendee will receive source lists, links, useful teaching tools, and other information selected and submitted by the symposium's panel members for their use and information. Professional development credit is approved for Metro Nashville, Rutherford & Sumner County teachers.
