Specialty: Policy advocacy, evidence-based practice, child welfare, and Native American culture.  Post-graduate work at both in-patient and out-patient psychiatric hospital programs provided valuable experience to learn the nuances and functions of managed care in mental health.  Although this work occurred in a clinical setting, it was useful to developing insights into program coordination, client advocacy at the mezzo level, social work practice within interdisciplinary teams, and quality assurance, among other skills.  These experiences have contributed to competence in teaching policy and research courses, particularly.
