University Travel

Spring Break Travel
All Belmont-sponsored Spring Break international travel—both mission trips and study abroad programs—were cancelled. All Spring Break mission trips scheduled for the United States continued as planned.

Travel Cancelled March 16 – May 2
All University-sponsored student and employee travel, both international and domestic, scheduled thru at least May 2 will be cancelled unless approved by senior leaders.

Maymester and Summer Study Abroad Programs and Mission Trips
We recognize that there are many study abroad programs planned for 2020. As of March 17, all Maymester programs - both international and domestic – were canceled, and impacted students and faculty were notified. Students enrolled in Maymester programs will be sent information regarding the refunding of program deposits, as well as plans to enable students to achieve the academic credits they intended to acquire through these programs.

Currently, no changes have been made to June/July Study Abroad programs, though we continue to ask for everyone’s patience as we navigate this situation.

As policy, Belmont-sponsored travel programs are canceled when the intended travel locations appear on lists designated as a State Department Level 4 or CDC Level 3. Personal travel to these countries and any others that appear on the State Department or CDC lists is also strongly discouraged. Our students’ health and safety is our top priority, and Belmont will work with students whose pending travel is impacted by this situation. We will continue to monitor updates on the coronavirus and will communicate as soon as possible if plans for Summer programs need to be altered.
