March 18, 2020 Coronavirus Update

Subject: Student Support/Resources While You’re Off Campus

On Monday, you heard from Dr. Fisher about our ongoing hope that we can follow our revised Spring 2020 schedule, a schedule that involves moving to virtual class experiences March 23-April 3. As this public health crisis continues to unfold, we are committed to keeping you informed of our plans and of any need for changes in that schedule.
As your faculty prepare this week to begin offering courses remotely, I want you to know your Student Life team is also working hard to develop virtual outlets that will provide you with additional Belmont resources to supplement your academic experience. On our new Student Resources page on the University’s COVID-19 website, you’ll discover ways you can “plug in” to campus life experiences from afar as well as get support to benefit your wellness, career development, spiritual life and more.

I want to reiterate that this is not how any of us wanted our Spring 2020 semester to transpire, but you, Belmont students, remain at the center of our efforts. We will continue to do our best to make these next few weeks as productive and fulfilling as possible despite your physical absence from campus, and we greatly appreciate your patience and understanding.
For now, wash your hands. Limit your points of contact. And stay well!
Dr. Paula Gill,
Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness
Interim Dean of Students
