Belmont Health Services has received its first shipment of the seasonal flu vaccine (not to be confused with the vaccine for the H1N1 virus). Students, faculty and staff can begin receiving vaccinations on Wed., Sept. 2 and Thurs., Sept. 3 in the conference room of the Teaching Center, which is located on the second floor of Gabhart. Hours will be 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The vaccine will cost $16 and is payable by cash or check. Those wishing to pay by debit or credit card will need to check-in first at Health Services. Thereafter, the vaccine will be available in the clinic. Departments wishing to schedule their own "flu clinic" may contact Health Services to make arrangements.

Belmont University Health Services anticipates receiving a supply of seasonal flu vaccine by mid-September and will begin vaccinating students, faculty and staff. This vaccination will consist of the usual one-time injection. Priority will be given to high-risk groups such as individuals with chronic illness or immunosupression and health care workers. The seasonal flu vaccine is not the H1N1 vaccine – click here for more information on the H1N1 vaccine.
Health Services has boosted its supply of seasonal flu vaccine and has also requested the maximum amount of the H1N1 vaccine possible once it's available.
When the seasonal flu vaccine is available, we will notify the Belmont community via BIC, Belmont FYI and this site.
