Robbie Pinter
Dr. Robbie Clifton Pinter is professor of English at Belmont
University. She enjoys teaching writing that involves the
community, especially using writing to teach about the environment
and other community issues. In both, she works with
students to give them real life writing practice. Dr. Pinter began
teaching at Belmont as in 1984. She began the computer-assisted
writing program at Belmont and worked for ten years as Director of
Writing. In 1991, she was nominated for the Virginia M. Chaney
Award, and in 2003, won Belmont's Tower Award for
Exceptional Contribution to Campus Life. Dr. Pinter is a member of
NCTE, MLA, and the National Assembly for the Expanded Perspectives
in Learning. She publishes about life writing in the
JAEPL journal, and she enjoys publishing outside of academia in
various publications that connect writing to life. In 2004, she
