Master of Education,
Learning and Organizational Change (LOC)
Belmont’s Master Of Education in Learning and Organizational Change (LOC) is designed to allow candidates to construct their own program that focuses on leadership in their own organization.Candidates completing this program undertake a core set of courses that focus on leadership and managing the change process.Following the core, candidates will work with a professor to design their own program. The goals of this program will usually relate to some change the candidate would like to make within their workplace.
Skills and Knowledge:
Through this program candidates will enhance their understanding of organizations, leadership theory and practice, and their ability to lead an organization through the change process. Additionally they will:
- Acquire reflective/analytical tools and ethical framework necessary for critical
judgment - Learn how to diagnose organizational problems
- Design a strategy to assist an organization to change
- Work through a change process with their organizations
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the process used
Program Logistics
Credit Hours: The M.Ed. is a thirty credit hour program, including:
Core Courses (12 Hours)
- Nine hours that focus on theory skills and application of learning strategies for organizations
- Three hours that focus on principles of research and application to an issue of
learning in their workplace
Learning and Organizational Change (18 hours)
- Fifteen hours Special Focus
- Three hours - Thesis
The program is designed for completion part-time in 24 months.
Weekend Classes: All day Saturday, every second week for 8 weeks.
