Dr. Sammy Swor
Dr. Sammy Swor was part of the Metropolitan Nashville Public School System for 36 years. He served as a science teacher for 16 years and 20 years in high school administration.
He was a Career Ladder III principal and served as the executive principal of Glencliff High School for 12 years. During his administrative career he served on several boards and committees targeting educational changes and improvements at both the local and state levels.
Dr. Swor served as University Mentor for Student Teachers at Peabody College of Vanderbilt University for five years before joining Belmont University. He has served as an adjunct faculty member at both the undergraduate and graduate levels for several other local universities.
Dr. Swor is Director of the New Teacher Project and an assistant professor in the School of Education. Dr. Swors’ experience will be a tremendous asset for the NTP professionals that are preparing to start a new career in academics.
