Dr. Michele Farmer
Dr. Michele Farmer is an assistant professor of special education and joined the Belmont faculty in 2009. She earned her M.Ed. and Ed.D. in Special Education at the University of Las Vegas and her Bachelor’s at Oklahoma State University.
Dr. Farmer taught students at the middle school level in Las Vegas and Stillwater, OK. She has also worked as an instructor of professional development for teachers in the Clark County School District in Nevada.
Before joining the Belmont faculty, Dr. Farmer served as an adjunct professor of special education at several colleges in the Las Vegas area teaching courses on students with learning disabilities. Her research focused on middle school students with learning disabilities in the area of nonfiction reading.
Dr. Farmer is interested in research aligned with the philosophy of differentiated instruction and its impact on student learning.
