English class

Belmont's English major is dynamic and flexible, offering both Literature and Writing tracks. In order to make sure you get the best academic background possible, we offer courses on everything from Arthurian Romance to African American Literature; from Shakespeare to Advanced Composition; from Southern Literature to Creative Writing. Outstanding student papers are presented annually at the Belmont Undergraduate Research Symposium, the cornerstone of Belmont's Academic Achievement Week each April; some students go on to present at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research.

Taught by dedicated professors who take the time to get to know you, your courses in the English major will challenge you to expand your appreciation for the variety of human experience and the richness of the written word.

Please see the current Belmont catalog for the most accurate information regarding the English major.
