Alumni Success

Mike Curb College of Entertainment & Music Business

Make your mark in the industry

The Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business has been training students in business careers specific to the entertainment industry for three decades, and the list of successful alumni is quite impressive!

Some of our notable alumni include Brad Paisley, Trisha Yearwood, Steven Curtis Chapman, Florida Georgia Line, Judah & the Lion, COIN, MoonTaxi, Jake Wesley Rogers, Ashley Gorley, Cindy Mabe, Dann Huff and many others.

Although many of the alumni above are successful performers, they obtained their Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from our college, which does not require any musical skills.

We are proud to claim some of the most successful names in the industry as our own, as documentation of a proven track record in the industry, and we will provide you with the tools needed to fulfill your dreams and add you to the list of successful alumni!

 Will McKinney

Will McKinney, Music Business, Class of 2009
Marketing Manager, Legacy Recordings/ Sony Music Entertainment

“I am a marketing manager for Legacy Recordings, Sony Music’s catalog label which grants me the incredible opportunity to execute marketing campaigns around the catalog music of such legendary artists from Johnny Mathis, Ozzy Osbourne and Whitney Houston to Mariah Carey, George Michael, A Tribe Called Quest and more. Because of Belmont, I was given the chance to pursue my dreams of living in New York City through the Belmont East program which gave me confidence and the connections to make the move and seven years later, I truly have my dream job. Belmont East helped put into practice and context all the different topics that I learned along the way and allowed me to really experience firsthand how the industry works. Belmont pulled me out of my comfort zone and really challenged me across the board to understand the vast opportunities in the music industry and make my dreams a reality.”

Katie Germano

Katie Germano, Music Business, Class of 2014
Agent Assistant, Creative Artists Agency

“I work as an assistant to an agent in CAA’s college booking department. We handle any request from a university that wants to book a CAA client to perform on its campus. I love that I have the opportunity to work with artists from all genres of our roster including hip-hop, country, rock, pop, etc. Thanks to a mentor I was paired with through Belmont’s One on One Mentorship Program, I landed an internship at CAA during my junior year. I immediately loved the company and its culture and was fortunate that my internship turned into a full-time job immediately after graduation. I’ve learned that relationships are a crucial part of the entertainment industry and I am grateful to Belmont for helping me form lasting relationships with peers and mentors that encouraged me to push myself. I can confidently say that I would not have the job I do today if I had not attended Belmont.”

Jimmy Chapin

Jimmy Chapin, Music Business & Marketing, Class of 2011
International Marketing Manager, Big Machine Label Group

“I handle international marketing and promotion for all of the BMLG roster— this includes radio, press, touring, and all marketing that is done overseas for our artists. Belmont was an amazing launchpad in that my degree gave me a great understanding of the music world, as well as the business and marketing world. International Business and Macroeconomics classes, as well as copyright law, and marketing classes were able to give me a firm understanding of the music industry and the business world as a whole. Additionally, the internship program that Belmont offers is an unbelievable asset. Being able to walk from campus to Music Row to intern was one of the most valuable things about my experience at Belmont. My internship at Big Machine led to me getting hired and eventually to my current position now. The internship program is key to getting your foot in the music industry.”
