Corporate Communication Major

  Communication Studies

The Corporate Communications major is ideal for students who want to blend their interests in organizational communication, marketing, management, and public relations.  In the five core courses, students develop their interpersonal and professional communication skills and learn how to analyze and strategically respond to complex organizational problems.  This program has an interdisciplinary elective pool so that students develop a skills-set relevant to their career goals.  Recent alumni are working in marketing, politics, and human resources.

"My coursework in the Communications Department taught me to carefully construct convincing arguments and effectively deliver my thoughts and ideas to others.  The Crisis Communications information I learned has been especially useful to my current position within the Healthcare Industry.  Having knowledge and experience in crisis communications has enabled me to successfully communicate a clear and consistent  message to these audiences during this transition period."
