While at Belmont, Musical Theatre students begin to make connections that will carry them into their professional careers. From the senior showcase in New York City with industry personnel to the local professional theatre productions, musical theatre students have ample opportunity to connect with future career opportunities. Additionally, graduates of the musical theatre program are able to pursue more advanced academic training through graduate programs in musical theatre, theatre, and music performance.

  • Stage work in Broadway/Off-Broadway productions and regional theatres
  • Cast membership on national touring productions
  • Performing with top tier cruise lines or theme parks such as Disney and Norwegian
  • Professional voice-over or cast recordings such as MTI (Musical Theatre International), recorded in Nashville.


Katie Ladner

Katie Ladner, Class of 2013

Katie Ladner made her Broadway debut in Sunset Blvd and then was part of Wicked for two years as ensemble and understudy to Madame Morrible. She is now part of the cast of Almost Famous, a musical based on the Oscar-winning film.

Candace Quarrels, Class of 2017

Candace Quarrels recently finished playing the role of Peggy/Maria in eleven time Tony winning “Hamilton: An American Musical” in Chicago while also covering the roles of Angelica Schuyler and Eliza Hamilton. Before Hamilton, Candace starred in the musical "The Book of Mormon", where she played the Tony award winning role of Nabulungi. Candace now lives in Los Angeles, and is pursuing a career in TV/Film.
