Belmont Piano Camp

Belmont University’s summer Piano Camp is a six-day residential experience on Belmont University’s beautiful campus in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee. Pianists rising into 9th-12th grades may study classical or jazz piano, having a daily private lesson with a member of the nationally-recognized piano faculty.  There are also daily group sessions that include a variety of musical activities, and evening concerts and social events.

Activities include:

  • Daily private lesson with a Belmont piano professor
  • Group lessons and masterclasses
  • Ensemble and classroom activities in:
    • Music Theory
    • Sight-Reading
    • Improvisation, and more!
  • Evening concerts

Daily camp activities begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 5 p.m.

Housing & Meals

Students will be housed in Belmont University dormitories. Roommates will be assigned randomly by gender unless roommate requests are indicated on the registration form.  While in the dormitories, participants will be under the careful supervision of the camp staff, and security will be a priority. All meals will be served in the Johnson Center Dining Hall.

Please submit the following:

  1. Belmont Piano Camp Application
  2. A repertoire list of pieces played within the last three years, sent via email to kristian.klefstad@belmont.edu.
  3. A video of two solo piano pieces in contrasting styles. For jazz track students, one of the pieces should demonstrate some form of improvisation.  Please send the link to Dr. Kristian Klefstad at kristian.klefstad@belmont.edu, with the subject line “Piano Camp Audition."

2020 Costs:Piano camp lab 18

Resident Package: $750, includes 15 meals and 5 nights in dorm
Commuter Package: $500, includes 5 lunches
