Wayne Causey

Wayne CauseyWayne Causey is an Adjunct Instructor of Church Music at the Belmont University School of Music serving as Coordinator of Church Music Activities.  He teaches undergraduate and graduate classes in church music, and supervises church music students' fieldwork.

Mr. Causey earned his Master of Church Music degree (double major in Church Music and Music Education) at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky and his Bachelor of Music Education at Stetson University in Deland, Florida. Mr. Causey has also furthered his studies in the child’s singing voice at the American Boy Choir School in Princeton, NY with James Litton and is a graduate of Doreen Rao's Choral Music Experience.

Mr. Causey is presently the Associate Pastor for Worship and Music at Forest Hills Baptist Church (Nashville, TN) and has served there since 1994.  He has taken the Forest Hills Sanctuary Choir to Europe on choral mission trips numerous times, singing in major cities throughout Ukraine and Italy.  Causey is an experienced choral clinician, and adjudicator for numerous choral festivals, and music camps.  He conducted the Nashville Youth Choir from 1995-2001 performing at Carnegie Hall in 2000. He holds membership in the following music organizations: American Choral Directors Association, Chorister's Guild, Music Educator's National Conference, Tennessee Music Educations Association, Tennessee Baptist Church Music Conference, Baptist Church Music Conference and Tennessee Choral Director's Association and is currently Interim Conductor of the Tennessee Men’s Chorale of the Tennessee Baptist Convention.
