Belmont Cited Most as ’School to Watch’ in 2009 U.S. News & World Report Rankings
In its newest analysis of America’s Best Colleges, U.S. News & World Report announced that Belmont University was a most cited “School to Watch” in its current research, a high honor that indicates the strength of Belmont’s reputation among universities nationwide. For the first time, U.S. News & World Report asked its experts to identify “colleges and universities that have recently made striking improvements or innovations—schools everyone should be watching.” [more]

New Students SERVE More Than 30 Local Organizations
The largest incoming class in Belmont University history made its mark on their new hometown Aug. 25 with the annual SERVE project, which stands for Students Engaging and Restoring through Volunteer Experiences. More than 1,000 new students, including members of the School of Pharmacy’s inaugural class, left campus at 9 a.m. to volunteer their time at 32 different ministry and charity organizations in the Nashville community. In celebration of the 2008 Town Hall Presidential Debate, Belmont University is launching “Great Moments in Presidential Debate History” on the university’s official Debate 08 Web site, www.belmontdebate08.com. Belmont Teams with CMT One Country for ’Your Voice Your Choice’ Concert Event
Belmont University and CMT One Country will host the ’Your Voice Your Choice’ concert event at the Curb Event Center on Wed., Aug. 27, including free food, voter registration and outdoor performances beginning at 5 p.m. The community-wide event, encouraging voter registration in advance of the 2008 Town Hall Presidential Debate at Belmont University, will include performances by Eli Young Band and Randy Rogers Band along with a Student Battle of the Bands.
