Student Athletes
Will Peters Named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team Peters, who recorded the highest GPA for all male cross country and track and field student-athletes at Belmont during the 2008-09 academic year, recorded seven top-16 finishes during the indoor and outdoor seasons.
At the 2009 Belmont Scholar-Athlete Recognition Reception the following awards were presented:
- Caleb Swartz, a Physics major, received the Robert E. Barnes Outstanding Senior Scholar-Athlete Award
- Caleb Swartz also received the Graduating Senior Academic Achievement Award
- William Peters, a Chemistry major, received the Academic Achievement Award for Men's Cross Country and Men's Track & Field
